Cities occupy just 2% of global land mass, but account for two-thirds of global energy use and produce 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions. Action in cities is essential to fight climate change. My research focuses on cities that are transitioning to carbon neutrality.
I specialize in translating the technical and political aspects of climate and energy policy for general audiences. My areas of expertise include:
- Urban action to fight climate change
- Building energy efficiency policies and programs
- Energy system transition from fossil fuels to renewable energy
- Municipal government climate and energy planning
